The first set of Carron trails opened early last year, and they are about to officially open the next set of trails and unveil the exciting plans for the next phase of development. To celebrate, there will be the inaugural Carron Valley BikeFest on May 12th this year. Organisers are delighted to announce details of an exciting new Bike Festival taking place in the heart of Central Scotland. The Carron Valley Partnership invites riders of all ages and abilities to come along and try the exciting new additions to the popular MTB trail network, see the future plans for the centre and enjoy a host of fun activities throughout the day. The Carron Valley BikeFest kicks off near the forest office at the eastern Dam car park from 11am on 12th May 2007 and will run all day long. In addition to enjoying some of the most popular trails in Scotland riders can savour the flavour of the Sizzling Hog roast or recharge at the Red Bull Energy Station. With future plans for the area on display riders can have their say on the future of the development then kick back and watch some of the hottest MTB films around, courtesy of Chilli Video. There will be great bargains on offer at trade stalls as well as top notch prizes up for grabs in the raffle. The Carron Valley BikeFest promises a fun-filled day for all the family with great trails, a friendly atmosphere, food, drink and entertainment aplenty. www.carronvalley.org.uk
